About the workshop:
This short workshop will introduce designers, urban planners, architects and other practitioners to three XYX Lab methods for participatory co-design.
Participants will be sharing stories and strategies with a diverse group of people to consider how design methods can be used to create inclusive practices. With the support of the Monash University XYX Lab, participants will think about spaces, places and experiences from a minority's perspective. The workshop is all genders and for persons aged 18+.

About workshop facilitators/exhibition designers:
Gene Bawden is a communication designer and Head of Monash Design Department. His research interrogates the design of Australian domestic spaces constructed as a prescriptive but highly charged representation of cultural belonging, social alignment and gendered expectation. Gene combines his knowledge of gendered spatial practices and his communication design expertise within collaborative research projects.
