The name, Jane Kenyon, will resonate for many with the painterly textiles for which she gained a reputation at a time when textiles were rarely seen in contemporary galleries. In recent years, Kenyon has entered a new trajectory with her primary focus being painting in a non-objective style.
Amongst other art works, this exhibition features selections from Kenyon’s new series, Variations on a Red Triangle. Borne out of a need to transcend the feeling of being ‘stuck’ in a particular mode of expression, these works often explode on the surface, referring to nothing other than a landscape of feelings, emotions and sensations.
