Trip Full: Weekend Trip to Strasbourg Christmas Markets. Dec 2021
Strasbourg is supposed to be a beautiful city right in the Alsace area of France. It s Christmas market is supposed to be one of the best in the world so I thought I would organise a weekend trip there in December 2021. The plan is to go on a Fri evening after work and then you can choose to head back either on a Sun night or Mon night depending on which is better for you.
This website has loads of info about the markets.
Now set up in the heart of the Grande Île in Strasbourg, a UNESCO world heritage site, the Strasbourg Christmas market is one of the oldest in Europe.
Strasbourg, the birthplace of Christmas celebrations, invites you on a true sensory journey. From the fairy-like lights to the delicious aromas, let yourself be carried away by the city’s warm atmosphere, marvel and wander around the 300 wooden chalets set up in the city’s historic centre. With its majestic Great Christmas Treesporting a dress of lights, and its countless illuminated streets, the Capital of Christmas takes you into an enchanted and richly decorated city that will enthral young and old.
Come and experience an authentic Alsatian Christmas, filled with magic and traditions from bygone days. It is also the ideal occasion to visit Strasbourg’s Grande Île, the particular charm of which peaks during this period of winter festivity.
I am sure that travel will be ok again by December 2021 but just to be on the safe side I will make sure that any accomodation I book has free cancellation so we can get our money back if we can t go due to Covid 19. We will also book flights nearer the time. All I will need to secure your place on the trip is a £50 deposit which will come off the cost of the hotels which look like they will be around £100 for 2 nights and £150 for 3. I am only asking for a deposit as a way of having your commitment before I spend a lot of my time researching the trip. Please book on if you are interested and I will be in touch.
