Hot Wheels: East Side Coffee Ride

Our coffee ride this week will start and end at Dinosaur Coffee - winding through Griffith Park in between. This is a no-drop ride. We will regroup at the top of Griffith Park and at the Observatory before making our descents. I will not provide printed route sheets. If you do not have a way to view the route (phone with Strava or bike computer) - no worries, we’ll employ the buddy system. There is ample metered parking (2 hr. max.) along Sunset Blvd. There is also parking along side streets (e.g., N Hoover St.), but please check posted parking restrictions.

Meeting Time: 7:00 am

Rollout Time: 7:30 am

Level of Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate
approx. 15 miles with 1,400 ft. of climbing

The level of difficulty is relative. If you are inexperienced please do your homework or ask questions. If you subscribe to Strava, look below the elevation profile to better understand the distance, elevation difference, and average grade of each segment of the ride. With that being said, if you believe you can do the ride, then I do too!

Required gear:
Helmet;
2 bottles of water (one with electrolytes);
Saddle or handle bar bag with the following:
Spare tube/s,
Tire levers,
Inflation device (a mini pump or CO2 cartridge with inflator),
Bike multi-tool,
Pair of disposable gloves (prevents dirty/greasy hands).
