BRIGHTWATER TRAIL FULL MOON HIKE

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26, 4:30PMWHAT: Masked Full Moon Hike at BOLSA CHICA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (BRIGHTWATER/POCKET/MESA/WARNER TRAIL LOOP) WHERE: The trailhead is located a half mile South from Warner & Bolsa Chica Street. (Please NOTE that we are not meeting at either of the wetlands parking lots off of PCH.) You will find ample parking along Bolsa Chica Street. Please park as closely to the Brightwater Trailhead as possible. **NO fee for parking** Click on the map to see the exact location. WHEN: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26, 4:30pm Meet at the end of Bolsa Chica St. near the BRIGHTWATER TRAILHEAD. If you need to cancel or have last minute questions you can reach me via text or mobile at[masked] PLEASE READ: HIKE STARTS at 4:45pm, so please be on time. The sun will be going down and it gets pretty dark. The group will keep a regular pace, yet allowing for the opportunity to stop and snap some photos. This is a 3 to 4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near PCH & Warner and rated as “easy,” however I’d say it is moderate or even challenging depending upon your ability and stamina. Portions of the trail are narrow, steep, gravelly and uneven so please keep that in mind and plan accordingly. This trail is sometimes narrow and although mask-wearing is mandatory a lot of people using trails have not gotten that memo, which makes it all the more important that we as a group are compliant. Hiking begins at 4:45pm. Moonrise at 5:19pm, Sunset at 5:46pm Clear skies, wind approximately 4mph, 0% chance of rain. Temperature will be around 65° at the start of the hike and drop about ten degrees, depending on how long we’re out there. *** THERE ARE NO BATHROOMS ON THIS TRAIL, SO PLEASE GO BEFORE YOU COME! *** BECAUSE THIS HIKE IS LOCATED ON AN ECOLOGICAL & WILDLIFE RESERVE DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED.  SUGGESTIONS: water mask (truly, please) hand sanitizer appropriate footwear with good tread snacks (and trash bag for your wrappers) flashlight jacket (for when the sun goes down, if you get cold like me)
