Painting from Photographs - Terry Norris - Greenville, SC 2025

Learn to create beautiful and effective paintings using photographic reference. Photos can open up a wide range of subjects to the artist, but also present some particular challenges to realizing a vivid and lifelike image. There will be plenty of individual instruction to help students develop their own ideas with sound compositional and painting principles that apply to all subjects and painting mediums. We will explore ways to create depth, dimension, atmosphere and a sense of light. Class is open to all skill levels, including beginners. Come to class ready to paint from your own reference material. Students bring their own supplies and paint in their medium of choice.
