Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to you from the Comprehensive
Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization to share information about an
upcoming conference which you, your students and your colleagues might
be interested in. The CTBT: Science and Technology 2017 Conference
[https://www.ctbto.org/specials/snt2017/] (SnT 2017) will take place
from 26 to 30 June 2017 at the Hofburg Palace in VIENNA, AUSTRIA. It
will be the sixth in a series
[https://www.ctbto.org/the-organization/science-and-technology-the-conference-series/]
of multidisciplinary conferences designed to further enhance the
strong relationship between the scientific and technological community
and the CTBTO.
The CONFERENCE SERIES PROVIDES A FORUM FOR SCIENTISTS FROM AROUND THE
WORLD TO EXCHANGE KNOWLEDGE AND SHARE ADVANCES IN MONITORING AND
VERIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES OF RELEVANCE TO THE COMPREHENSIVE
NUCLEAR-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). Such interaction helps ensure that the
Treaty’s global verification regime
[https://www.ctbto.org/verification-regime/] remains at the forefront
of scientific and technical innovation.
The 1996 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) bans all nuclear
explosions by everyone, everywhere: on the Earth's surface, in the
atmosphere, underwater and underground. The CTBTO is tasked with
establishing a verification regime which includes a global network of
over 300 monitoring stations.
I would be grateful if you could share information about the
Conference and encourage students and colleagues to submit abstracts
and attend. Please find attached a short electronic flyer. We would
also be happy to provide you with printed posters and flyers for
distribution.
For more information, including on financial assistance, submission
deadlines and the themes of the CONFERENCE, please see
https://www.ctbto.org/specials/snt2017/
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that are not
covered on the website.
We look forward to hearing from you and to hopefully welcoming you in
Vienna next June.
Sincerely,
SnT2017 Local Organizing Committee
