WORKSHOP 2 – PITCHING AND NETWORKINGTwo key ways to interact with an
Arts Market is to “pitch” your show and network with people. This
workshop will have practical sessions where participants can trial
some methods of pitching (selling) their work, and get some extra tips
on how to network.
Here Liz Rogers will be joined by some guests who have a wealth of
experience in the world of ‘schmoozing’ and buying/selling shows.
What is your project? How will the work stand out? What to avoid
doing.
The workshop is relevant to those that have secured a pitching spot at
APAM, and for anyone else who’s interested in learning more skills!
Available for people at all stages of experience.

The Australian Performing Arts Market will be hosted by Darwin
Festival in August 2021 bringing a number of leaders of the performing
arts world to the Top End. Arts Markets have fast become the most
efficient way for producers and artists to network, see where their
own work fits in the context of Australia, and to sell their
tour-ready shows.

To take advantage of this opportunity to network with national and
international presenters when they converge on the NT’s Hot August
Nights, Artback NT will be running a series of workshops to help
demystify the world of Arts Markets.
ABOUT YOUR HOST
Artback NT: connecting people and place through arts development and
touring.
Liz Rogers, performing arts manager of Artback NT, is responsible for
supporting artists and arts workers based in the Northern Territory of
Australia. Touring opportunities have been delivered throughout the
NT, nationally and internationally.
Born and raised in Darwin, Liz spent ten years based in Sydney
learning the art and logistics of theatre production in both
not-for-profit and commercial ventures. In that time she worked
predominantly on musicals and children’s shows. Her work has taken
her touring overseas in Australasia, the Middle East and Europe. Her
unique background as a production manager, stage manager, lighting and
sound designer has lent perfectly to understanding the needs of the
productions that she now produces.
