"Shine On Me" Karaoke Competition (Performers' Application Form)

Yes! We are back for a Second Time Running with the Students Karaoke Competition in Darwin!

Our aim is to encourage international students living in the Northern Territory (NT) to show their talents and engage with the community as a suitable way to socialize, providing a harmonious life and study environment. We want to enrich the Territory international student experience, showcase the Territory as a study destination and provide students with an opportunity to shine and expand their networks.

PRIZES:

1. Gold Award and Champion: a prize valued at $600 including a CDU one-term Voice/Piano lesson including a $200 gift card and a trophy

2. Silver Award: a prize valued at $200 including a $150 gift card and a trophy

3. Bronze Award: a prize valued at $130 including a $100 gift card and a trophy

The Public will elect The Most Popular Singer on the day.

* All participants will receive a gratitude certificate

* There will be a lucky draw for the attendees

IMPORTANT DATES:

Announcement/Launch: Tuesday 4 August

Deadline of Submission of Entry Forms: Sunday 16 August

Semi-Final CompetitionRound 1 AUDITIONS: Saturday 22 August

Release of Semi-Final Competition Result: Monday 24 August

Final competitors hand title of songs Deadline: Wednesday 26 August

FINAL COMPETITION: Saturday 29 August

VENUE:

- Final Competition: Charles Darwin University - Casuarina - Orange 3 Theatre

- Auditions: Charles Darwin University - Casuarina - Blue 1 (From 3PM)

TIME :

5:30PM to 8:30PM (Doors Open at 5PM)

ELIGIBILITY:

This is a FREE event. All candidates must be international students living in the NT (Current or former).

ASSESSMENT CRITERION:

The assessment criterion for Singing includes: Stage Manners, Voice, Interpretation, Audience awareness, Singing skills. The judges have all right to make the final judgment.

The Judges will be Music/Entertainment Professionals, Sponsors and Co-Organizer Representatives.

Co-organizers: Global Cultural Exchange Company, Kindness Shake Inc. and the CDU Centre for Youth and Community Music.

*Rules and Regulations

1. Participants choose their own song.

2. The time limitation for performance in the singing contest is 5 minutes.

3. The assessment criterion for Singing includes: Stage Manners, Voice, Interpretation, Audience awareness, Singing skills etc.

4. Participants are not allowed to submit more than one application form.

5. The organization will not adjust the microphone volume in the Singing Competition.

6. The judges have all right to make the final judgment.

7. Amendment on information is not allowed on the competition day.

8. Participants must go onto the stage from the left, and leave the stage from the right.

9. Latecomers will be arranged for the last appearance in the group.

10. During the competition, please set the phones to the silent mode, do not stand or leave the venue randomly.

11. Mobile phone and small point and shoot cameras are only allowed to be used during the competition (no detachable lenses or digital SLRs). Flash photography is not permitted at any time.

12. Anyone who causes disturbance during the competition will be asked to leave the venue.

13. The organizer has the right to change information such as requirements, details, time and venue regarding the competition. Please check CDUSA's FB Page and your email at all times to see if there are any changes.
