Round 5 of the NBL1 2025 Season finds itself being the ANZAC Round where every competition in NBL1 pays there respects to the ANZAC's.

The Norwood Flames were formed in 1946 by returning soldiers from World War II who were part of the 2/10th Battalion.
With such a history, Norwood will be paying homeage to our club's forefathers as we wear the iconic camoflage strip for this special occasion.
We will also be paying our respects, with a full Anzac Service before each game- with The Last Post, Ode to Remeberance and Minute's Silence.
As part of the NBL1's National Theme Round- each game will have an Anzac Day Round Medal Winner. This award will be awarded by votes from the coaches and referees for the player who best displays the Anzac Spirit. This includes qualities including endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour and mateship.
In the Women's game- Woodville come with a strong team- featuring the likes of former WNBA and Opals player- Erin Phillips. She is joined by another dual-sport athlete in Jasmin Fejo. Both guards will prove a tough matchup for the home team Flames.
Norwood has been well led by Amanda Paschall (AP) who has been a creative playmaker thus far. She is averaging 20.5ppg, 7.5rpg and 3.5apg with a solid 3.5 steals per contest also. Centre Emily Saunders has also been a presence with 13 boards per game and 2 blocks. Sophie Kerridge (SK) is doing a bit of everything- 5.5ppg, 4.5apg, 4.5rpg and 3 steals.
For the Men- Norwood will be looking to get an Anzac Day Victory against a tough-nosed Woodville side. Featuring Nic Wurm, Joe Jackson, Steven Parfitt and French Import Tim Troussel- the Warriors will be a big, physical side.
Trey McBride is leading the way for the Flames- averaging 18ppg, 4.5apg, 5.5rpg and 2.5spg.
The likes of Anthony Green, Riley Harrap and Cooper Osborne will be looking to have big games.
