We invite you to a workshop on communication with some COVID context
with Joy Stewart and two actors taking the roles of parent Sharnie and
student Felix.Due to positive feedback and popular demand, this is the
second workshop for parents run by Joy this year. This workshop will
be run via video conference - the video link to the workshop will be
sent the day before the event. (You can attend this workshop even if
you missed the first one.)
Parents are sometimes faced with unexpected conversations which can be
difficult. This workshop presents you with the opportunity to look at
some of these conversations and engage in discussion about strategies
that are useful.
Parents will have the opportunity to discuss communication strategies
and see the dialogue and transactional models in action. Actors will
present different scenarios providing parents with a safe environment
to explore options to get different outcomes.
Joy Stewart, an industry specialist in organisational communication,
will explore further the models that Bradfield has adopted to support
the college community. These skills and strategies can be used in your
day to day interactions whether talking to your child, a teacher, a
colleague at work or your partner.
We’ll have some general conversation online between 5.30-6.00pm,
with the workshop commencing at 6.00pm.
The event is hosted by Friends of Bradfield, which is our parent body
that represents parents and carers. Friends is a charity and is led by
an elected parent committee supported by the Director and an Assistant
Director of the College.
