Visual Art Materials and Creativity in the Classroom

This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore the properties of fine art materials for the classroom as well as highlighting the ways in which we can facilitate for flexible creative experiences for our students. It will afford us the opportunity to experience self-expression with acrylic paint, canvas, ceramics and a variety of wet and dry drawing tools. We will touch upon: the art elements; skills and techniques; how to map an art experience and the importance and power of positive feedback. This workshop is specifically crafted for preservice teaching students at Western Sydney university and student ID will be checked at the door.
