Self care is an important topic being spoken about these days - but it
is way more involved than a facial or massage once a month. It is a
mindset, a lifestyle choice, and a daily practice.
Why do health professionals need RADICAL self care ?
As health professionals, we are in a caregiver role. We hold the
container for many people. When they are in our treatment room we take
on their energy, our body syncs with theirs, and we experience some of
their emotion and energy in our bodies.
Thats why working in the health profession is such an exhausting job,
and why there is so much burn out in this profession, just from this
energy exchange!
In addition to the energy exchange, as health professionals we also
have schemas that drive us to this profession in the first place.
Unrelenting standards and self-sacrifice are both very common in
health professionals. For many of us, we were programmed from our
childhood to be caregivers and to use our intellect and knowledge to
fix problems, but often without healthy boundaries around rest and
play. Its in the fabric of our being.
So this is why self care for health professionals has to be RADICAL!!
The 2-day retreat will focus on:
- teaching the healing pathways from the unrelenting standards and
self-sacrifice schemas, by activating more self-care as well as more
reciprocity in our relationship with others, with our work and with
life
- learning to honour your nervous system as part of a daily practice
- how to create your very own "lifestyle club" where you prioritise
activities and practices that are nourishing and energising
- how to understand how your income can support you to make creative
lifestyle adjustments so that you can create a sustainable long-term
career as a health professional
The course will have an emphasis on experiential work (such as imagery
and chair work), to awaken the imagination and increase your capacity
for self-nurturing.
If you are seeking a PD event that delivers novel, intuitive, creative
and inspiring approaches to wellbeing and emotional health, plus has
the added benefit of enhancing your own personal wellbeing, then this
retreat is for you!!

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Dr. Tracey Hunter
Tracey is a clinical psychologist based on the Gold Coast, who has
trained in New York as a Schema Therapist (advanced accreditation)
with Dr. Jeffrey Young and Wendy Behary, and has run professional
development workshops across Australia over the past 15 years in
Schema Therapy as well as emotional wellbeing in corporate settings
and teams. Tracey's focus is on integrating the past with the present,
personality integration, and achieving wholeness and individuation
through balancing our internal drives for connection and autonomy. She
supervises many psychologists across Australia in the application of
Schema Therapy for complex cases. She is passionate about teaching
therapists about Schema Therapy, healing and vulnerability.
Dr. Rachel Wheeler
Rachel is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 year experience in
Australia and the UK. Schema Therapy resonated deeply with her and she
used it to heal her own schemas that blocked her wellbeing. She is
passionate about it because she believes true transformation can only
be achieved by addressing the origin of the problem, and understanding
your conditioning and coding that reinforces your unmet core needs.
Rachel is committed to assisting other health professionals to have a
deep understanding of their patterns and conditioning, so they can be
more confident and effective healers.
Rachel is the co-creator of The Wellbeing Codes and believes it is
relevant to every human on the planet, because we all have unhelpful
coding that we pick up along the way. The Wellbeing Codes offers a
pathway to systematically healing childhood wounds and patterns and
opening up opportunities to thrive rather than just survive.
