Contemporary Kids x Fambo 21-25 January 2020: school holidays at MCA
MCA, National Cenrtre for Creatove Learning, level 3 Join us for a
special edition of Contemporary Kids in collaboration with Fambo: A
Queer Festival for all Kinds of Families. Presented in association
with Sydney Festival, we are celebrating the LGBTQIA+ experience in a
welcoming and safe space for all families at the MCA. Come along for a
combination of performance, installation, art-making and dress-ups in
a series of drop-in workshops led by some of Sydney’s most exciting
LGBTIQA+ artists. As part of the program, you will experience our 2019
Jackson Bella Room Commission by artist Liam Benson, hello, good
to meet you (2019 ). ALL bodies and ALL abilities are welcome, this
program is designed for children and their grown-ups to collaborate
together. Drop in as many times as you like throughout the week with
your family ticket. Artist educators fluent in Auslan will be present

in 2018, Fambo is the initiative of curator and queer parent Jenn
Blake and brings together community and artists to create spaces for
families where gender is not binary or imposed, different bodies are
not othered, and creative self-expression is encouraged and
