What we'll doAt the CRITICS CLUB, Karel Segers of the Story Department
(http://thestorydepartment.com [http://thestorydepartment.com]) will
guide us through a film analysis, with input from you all. What worked
in the film for you; what didn't?The MOVIE IS ALWAYS A SURPRISE. We
have had classics, brand new releases, blockbusters and arthouse gems.
Most are English spoken, but we do offer the odd foreign language
film, and even TV pilots. For a flavour of what we've had in the past,
check out the photos
(https://www.meetup.com/sydneyscreenwriters/photos/
[https://www.meetup.com/sydneyscreenwriters/photos/]).A critical part
of writing is understanding how to analyse and critique existing work.
During these sessions, you may learn how to identify and resolve
issues in your own stories and scripts. If you're new to the group, you
don't have to actively participate. Feel free to come along, and
observe a fun and lively discussion. Many of our members like to take
notes, so perhaps bring a notebook. Finally, the venue is easy to
access, but you will have to check the location beforehand so you know
exactly where to go. The grandstand is on a big block, so if you're at
the wrong entrance, you may be in for a bit of a walk.See you
there!Cheers,Your hosts,Nir ShelterKarel Segers (also Sponsor)
