EXPLORING FEEDING, ADDICTION AND DECISION-MAKING!
AFTER A SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL EVENT IN MELBOURNE LAST YEAR, THE
UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES PROUDLY PRESENTS THE AUSTRALIAN
APPETITIVE MOTIVATION SYMPOSIUM 2019.
FEATURING PLENARY SESSIONS BY PROFESSOR TREVOR ROBBINS (CAMBRIDGE
UNIVERSITY) AND DR YEKA APONTE (JOHN HOPKINS UNIVERSITY), AND
PRESENTATIONS BY LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL RESEARCHERS, THE AUSTRALIAN
APPETITIVE MOTIVATION SYMPOSIUM (AAMS) AIMS TO BRING TOGETHER RESEARCH
AND CLINICAL SCIENTISTS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN THE GENERAL FIELD OF
APPETITIVE MOTIVATION. THIS YEAR, THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BE CENTRED ON
THREE MAJOR THEMES: ADDICTION TO ALCOHOL AND DRUGS OF ABUSE, INGESTIVE
BEHAVIOURS, AND THE NEURAL PROCESSING UNDERLYING DECISION-MAKING.
REGISTRATION IS FREE, HOWEVER RSVP IS ESSENTIAL FOR CATERING
PURPOSES.
POSTER COMPETITION
In addition to presentations, there will also be a poster session and
reception at the end of the day. Everyone is welcome to submit
posters, from students to lab heads, and a prize will be given for
best poster. Poster abstracts are limited to 250 words, and may be
submitted to the Organising Committee at k.clemens@unsw.edu.au by June
8, 2019. Note that the maximum size of the poster boards is 1.8 metres
tall by 1.8 metres wide.
The Symposium is hosted by the University of New South Wales, Sydney,
and will be presented in Colombo Theatre A.

at aams.psy.unsw.edu.au and circulated via email closer to the time.
