The Vladswim Challenge Swim at Balmoral is the ultimate event for
daring swimmers to test their fitness, strength and endurance. The
event offers a 2.5km and 5km open water swim and a 10km marathon swim
for athletes 14 years and above. Initially created for swimmers
needing a qualifying swim to be done for the Rottnest Channel event,
the Vladswim has grown to become a training session or an end-of-year
goal for swimmers to reach, challenging athletes both physically and
mentally. After the swim, hang around, grab a bite to eat and enjoy
all that the area has to offer. Swim courses The Vladswim Challenge
tests swimmer's endurance and strength in the water with three
distances to choose from; a 2.5km, 5km or 10km swim. The course is a
2.5km loop starting at Chinamans Beach. The route heads south towards
Edwards Beach, turns at Rocky Point and finishes back at Chinamans
Beach. Competitors opting for the 5km swim will do the loop twice and
those choosing to do the 10km will do the loop four times. With a
range of distances to choose in a friendly environment and with calm
conditions, the Vladswim Challenge is the perfect event for athletes
