ELLERSLIE RESEARCH BREWERY: BREWING UPDATE In late 2019 Ellerslie
decided to invest in building a research brewery and brought onboard
Glenn Harrison to lead the charge. Glenn’s research aims to assist
other brewers by delving deeper into different ingredients and what
they can offer when brewed with in different ways. Whilst his research
will be posted on Ellerslie’s website for everyone to access, during
these Mash Ups Glenn will carry out tastings of some of the beers
he’s made, talk more in depth about some of his interesting
experiments and share his opinion on what does and doesn’t work.
GLENN HARRISON Glenn has been a commercial brewer for the past 14
years including a 5-year stint as Head Brewer at Temple Brewing where
he took out the AIBA Trophy for Best International Pale Ale in 2015.
Glenn has been a beer judge for the IBA since its inception as well as
an AIBA judge for the past seven years. He regularly lectures at
Melbourne University on a range of brewing topics including sensory,
beer style guidelines and brewing techniques. When he’s not at work
you can catch him playing cricket, watching cricket or checking his
phone for the latest cricket scores.
