techniques and encourage your creativity to emerge in a supportive
studio environment? Discover how to see and draw with proportion and
perspective, and how to work from small studies to larger, sustained
drawings. Learn about the importance of line, tone, composition and
mark-making and explore the mediums of graphite, charcoal and ink.
Siena White sets projects and gives you the opportunity to draw still
life scenes and work from the life model. She gives demonstrations,
group exercises and one-to-one tuition and guides you in developing
your own way of seeing and drawing. Covered footwear is essential in
all studio spaces on campus. Siena White is an artist and teacher at
the National Art School, also running workshops at the Art Gallery of
NSW. She was the recipient of the Art Gallery of NSW Robert Le Gay
Brereton Memorial Prize in 2014 for her skills in drawing. Her
practice employs drawing from life and observational skills.
