ACP tutor Glenn Lockitch, 2015. Photojournalism Australian Centre for
Photography Share Tweet “Opened my mind to media in society, and
improved my photographic knowledge through 10 very interesting
lessons.” – Student Feedback In the fast changing landscape of
media into the digital age the photographic image has seen a
resurgence in relevance. From DSLRs, mirrorless cameras to camera
phones nearly everyone these days has a camera. It is a creative
critical independent mind expressed in quality photography that makes
certain images stand out over others. During the 10 weeks of this
photojournalism course you will learn how to research, photograph,
edit and create your own photo essay. We will be reviewing your
progress each week in class and in the last week project everyone’s
final work. Developing your confidence whilst shooting for your photo
essay we will cover important photojournalism theory including
history; ethics; your rights; copyright; publishing outlets; fund
raising and post processing/editing. During the course we will either
have an industry/professional guest speaker and/or photograph a
newsworthy event as an excursion. If your passion is to tell a story
and record history with your camera then this is your course.
