ROBYN MUNRO MILLER, PRESIDENT, INTERNATIONAL PLAY ASSOCIATION
Drawing on international perspectives and examples, Robyn will share
recent updates, research and findings in the area of free play,
followed by a Q&A session.
Robyn will explore the concept of play and challenge us to reflect on
the role of educators as advocates and how best to protect and promote
play.
11.30AM LOOSE PARTS PLAY: THE DIFFERENCE IT MAKES
DR SHIRLEY WYVER, SENIOR LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL STUDIES,
MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY
Dr Shirley will outline the findings of her extensive research into
the benefits of outdoor play, and how even with the most challenging
space you can use loose parts to their full advantage.
This session includes a Q&A.

compost, but we often hear many services struggles with dying worms
and stinky compost. James is an expert and will share all the hints
and tips on how to keep the balance.

There’s more to making a frog pond than meets the eye. Learn how to
make a frog-friendly pond using environmentally friendly resources.
