the return of a favourite Australian work. The concert on December 5th
will have limited capacity while also being live streamed. be live
streamed. The performance will open with Beethoven’s arousing and
emotional Coriolan Overture to reflect the tragedy of 2020 on the
arts. Australian composer Jim Coyle’s Dancing With Billy Bray is
filled with exuberance and dynamism, reflecting TMO’s optimism for a
positive and musical future as we rise from the ashes of 2020. The
evening’s pinnacle comes with Mendelssohn’s emotional and powerful
Symphony no 4, Italian. First performed by The Metropolitan Orchestra
in their first ever concert in 2009, it is a fitting work highlighting
a wonderful new beginning for the orchestra.
