An all day workshop to expand your visual awareness and learn the tools to enhance your photography and create more powerful images.

An all-day workshop to immerse yourself in the science, art, and psychology of composition and aesthetics. Expand your visual awareness and vocabulary. Learn the tools at your disposal for creating more powerful images. Lectures in composition will be interspersed with practical photography time to apply the principles learned. There will also be a critique session at the end of the day to provide feedback on the images taken.

ITINERARY

9AM - meet and greet/introductions

9:30AM - lecture on composition, part I - visual communication and tools for constructing an image.

11AM - photo shoot to practice creating images based on what was learned in first session.

12pm - lunch break

1PM - lecture on composition, part II - colour theory, line theory, visual weight & balance.

2:30PM - Photo shoot to further practice incorporating new theoretical elements.

3:30PM - Q&A plus feedback and critique session of photos taken during the day.

5:00PM - end of workshop

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Workshop Requirements:

• A camera of any description inc digital SLR, Mirrorless digital compact or even a phone.
• Spare batteries & memory cards
• Notepad and pen (course notes will be provided after workshop)

Bookings:

• Bookings are non-refundable unless cancelled by Better Photo Workshops, or the workshop needs to be cancelled due to Govt Covid restrictions and border closures. If a participant is unable to attend for personal reasons the money paid can be used as a credit towards another course if booked within 6 months, or towards personal tuition.
• Better Photo Workshops reserves the right to cancel the workshop if minimum numbers stipulated are not met, extreme illness of the presenter, or for other unforeseen reasons beyond our control. Cancellation of the workshop by Better Photo Workshops will result in a full refund.
• Participants are responsible for their own accomodation (if travellling interstate) and fort their own lunch. Participants are strongly advised to book accommodation with a suitable refund policy and/or get travel insurance incase workshop needs to be cancelled for reasons above. Better Photo Workshops will not be liable for lost payments on travel plans.
• Better Photo Workshops carries Public Liability Insurance, however participants will be required to sign a personal injury waiver for any outdoor sessions.

Covid Safe Policy:

• Where possible participants will be required to maintain a 1.5m distance from others in this workshop.
• Participants will be required to use their own cameras, laptops, and other equipment, and not share or swap equipment beyond their family circle.
• Hand sanitiser will be provided and should be used regularly.
• If the law of the state where the workshop is being held requires the wearing of face masks in an indoor environment, participants must wear a supplied mask for the duration of the indoor sessions. Participants may also choose to wear masks even if not mandated by law or for outdoor sessions.
