This workshop will present the latest research from overseas on high density living, rapid urbanisation and the implications on health during periods of extreme heat. The workshop will be divided into two sections. Before morning tea, participants will hear from local and overseas researchers who will present their current research in this area. The second half of the workshop will be a discussion as to the key issues for urban planners, local governments, community workers, aged care workers, academics and those interested in environmental impacts on health. The aim of this workshop is to gather the key issues for those working in the field so that research can be informed by key stakeholders, and changes to policy, guidelines and/or practice can be evidence based.
