Get Creative [Learn to Sew]

Get Creative with Wollongong City Libraries to learn something new._Note: you must book into and be able to attend all sessions in the series. _ Get sewing is this series of 4 workshops. Suitable for beginners, you will learn the basics – cutting from a pattern, measuring, hems, elasticated waistbands, zips and more as you make a cushion cover, skirt or pants. You will need to bring your own fabric and thread. Please note that this class is for adults only. WORKSHOP 1 - OCTOBER 16:   Cushion Cover, pillow style – Bring 1m cotton fabric only plus cushion insert (buttons for decoration optional) and thread. WORKSHOP 2 - OCTOBER 30:   Option 1…   Skirt – Bring non-stretch fabric to measure twice the desired length plus and extra 40cm to allow for hems and waistband, roll of elastic (maximum width 3cm) and thread. Option 2…   Pyjama pants – Bring soft cotton fabric to measure waist to ankle length plus and extra 40 cm to allow for hems and waistband, roll of elastic (maximum width 3cm) and thread.                                                                   WORKSHOP 3 - NOVEMBER 13:     Continue with making the skirt or pyjama pants WORKSHOP 4 - NOVEMBER 27:   Zip it up – Bag or purse If you are unable to attend please cancel your tickets as soon as possible. This will enable others to participate in the session. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine as long as it is in good working order.
