tour shares the hidden histories of over 80,000 American soldiers
stationed in Brisbane during WWII. Explore with us significant sites
from the Battle of Brisbane to headquarters of the Allied Forces in
the South-West Pacific. Find out how this incredible period in our
city’s social history has had a lasting impact on contemporary
Brisbane. Starting in the King George Square Foyer of Brisbane City
Hall, learn about the important role of City Hall during World War II
before heading off on a guided walking tour of the city. Walk to
Albert Street Uniting Church to learn about Brisbane’s war brides,
uncover the past at ANZAC Square Memorial Museum, hear about the
Battle of Brisbane, explore Customs House and then complete your tour
at the MacArthur Museum. Entry to all attractions included.
