Many people are passionate about addressing the need for more appropriate housing options in Queensland.We KNOW what is needed, so who is DOING? Transitioning from ‘knowing’ to doing, is a challenge across the housing and homelessness sector. Social Scaffolding are bringing together a panel of highly engaged speakers who will challenge the status quo on the provision of social and affordable housing in Queensland. Hear from a broad range of providers, influencers and funders, learn from their successes and challenges and connect with others to discuss your DOING. Speaker: Gary Storkey, Chair of SA Housing Authority Panelists: David Cant, Board Member National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) Joe Hurley, Manager Development & Partnerships, Brisbane Housing Company (BHC) Alastair McGibbon, Chief Executive Officer, Social Enterprise Finance Australia (SEFA) _Creating Supply through responding to individual needs_ Gary Storkey, Chair of South Australian Housing Authority has spent many years focused on the people who need access to housing. His presentation will challenge our way of thinking about the housing continuum and who can afford to buy their own home as well as suggesting ways of providing access to capital to build more homes. _Capital Structuring and Partnering_ Speakers will provide examples and discuss how the gap between the cost to build and supply of new homes can be addressed. The common themes of partnerships and solutions will emerge. We welcome you to join us for what will be an exciting discussion bringing the experience and different viewpoints of a panel of notable speakers.
