WORKSHOP | SCIENTIFIC GLASS TALK & DEMONSTRATION WITH JARRED WRIGHT Scientific glass blower and artist Jarred Wright joins us for an artist talk and hands on demonstration in the artisan workshop. Learn about the fascinating history of scientific glass blowing, a threatened legacy skill and a truly unique vocation. Did you know there are currently only a few dozen scientific glass blowers working in the southern hemisphere? Some of these skills are based here in Queensland. Jarred is an interesting maker who produces specialised scientific glassware for laboratory use, but also has a parallel creative practice. He harnesses his artisinal skills to produce fine art and design objects. Jarred will discuss his career, the exhibition of his work currently on display at artisan, and finally do a live demonstration of glass blowing and flameworking. You will have the option of giving it a go yourself! BOOKINGS: $25 per person limited to 10 spaces DURATION: 1.5 hours SAFETY: Please come to this event wearing closed shoes. You will also be provided with and required to wear safety glasses for the demonstration. ------------------------- WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note this WORKSHOP CAN BE CANCELLED BY  ARTISAN due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible. PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION POLICY: Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator.
