As part of Brisbane Citys
Discover the unconventional charm of familiar urban landscapes in this workshop with photographer and filmmaker Charlie Hillhouse. Hillhouse will guide you through photographic techniques and approaches to capturing the character of inanimate objects and imbuing them with a story.
Charlie Hillhouse's photographic series 'Untitled (Roadside Trees)', on display at King George Square Carpark, is an ongoing collection of portraits of trees in urban and suburban Brisbane. Recently he has photographed satellite dishes, rocks in urban spaces, and barbed wire and fences, creating 'portraits' of unconventional subjects.
Please bring your own (BYO) camera phone, digital, or film camera.
