WORKSHOP TWO As part of Stockland's sponsorship of the Ravenswood
Australia Women in Art Prize, Stockland Cairns are hosting a series of
free indigenous Women in Art sessions with local FNQ artist Trish
Barnard. As a well-known indigenous exhibition curator and designer
Trish, who lives at Bingil Bay, is an artist who is passionate about
research on Aboriginal historical and contemporary perspectives and
embrace opportunities to collate information that will enhance public
understanding.Join us as we celebrate and foster the finest female
talent in Australia with these free community workshops, to help
create a piece of art for you to submit in this year's Ravenswood
Australia Women in Art Prize. The Ravenswood Women in Art Prize
features three prize categories; Professional Artist Prize of $35,000,
the Emerging Artist Prize of $5,000 and the Indigenous Emerging Artist
Prize of $5,000.
WHEN: Thursday 27th February 6:00pm - 8:00pm
WHERE: Held in Shop C02, opposite BCC Cinemas access from the rooftop
car park
WHAT: Indigenous drawing and painting workshop using traditional
techniques and materials such as charcoal, oils, pencils and paint.
A professional photographer will be available Tuesday 3 March 9am –
11am to capture your artwork prior to submission.
All materials will be provided as part of the workshop. Workshops are
free but bookings are required. Please book your complimentary ticket
using the link below. If you cannot attend closer to the time, you can
refund your ticket through Eventbrite to release it back to to the
public.
