The Christmas round-up: gifts for design lovers Favourite Share So ...
we don't want to alarm you. But there are only 15 days until
Christmas. Oh boy. Last week we helped you find the perfect gift for
the hims and hers in your life, but we realise some gift recipients
are a little harder than that. If your special someone is a lover of
design and homewares, look no further. For their kitchen … We know
getting a kettle for Christmas might seem a little boring, but not
when it’s a sleek newbie designed by Marc Newson for Sunbeam. If you
think they’d prefer something equally functional but with a little
bit of quirk, help them separate yolks like a boss with this super
cute Yolk Fish from GOMA Store. The festive season usually means
dinner parties, so make sure they are ready to entertain with a
handcrafted dinner set from Harvest Clay, or a bamboo wine
presentation box for all the beverages that will no doubt be poured.
If they’re really tricky, wow them with a fancy
marble-and-brass-themed kitchen hamper from Not Another Bill – sign
them up for a subscription if you’re feeling generous! For their
living area … We spend the most of our time at home in our living
areas, so give them something to make sure they think of you
fondly every day! Put a smile on their dial with a fun ice-cream
mirror from Andrea and Joen, or go completely minimalist with this
chic marble clock from Country Road or this rope vessel from Willo. Do
their indoor plants need a little life? Spruce them up with a plant
stand from Ivy Muse, available from The Borrowed Nursery in
Miami. Go all out with a new Danish-inspired credenza from local
company Kira & Kira or a place to park their keister with a Stanley
stool from Jardan. And if their taste is too darn hard to buy for,
get them a candle subscription from The Candle Library, so they can
get a fresh new scent for their home each month or find something
wonderful at Beautiful Spaces at The 4217. The store is filled with
a fantastically miscellaneous assortment of things from fancy garden
hoses and bespoke bowls to curious light bulb planters, so you’re
sure to find something that takes your fancy. For their bedroom …
We’re talking strictly design products here people, other
bedroom-related gifts we will leave to your imagination. Sheets
don’t have to be boring – swathe them in luxury with a set of
linen sheets from Mr. Draper or In The Sac. Give their bed a splash
of colour with a quirky cushion from Everingham + Watson, or go all
the way with a vibrant quilt cover set from Sheets on the Line. Want
something a little more Nick Offerman rustic and manly? Go for
Pendleton. Enough said. For their workspace … If you’ve got
yourself a little bookworm for secret Santa, help them keep their
stash in order with these agate bookends from west elm, or a sleek
Book Rest from the lads at Work Shop Objects. Let them gather their
ideas with a super-cute notebook from Liberty Trading Co., all the
better to see under a minimalist table lamp from Kmart. Hint how much
you think they rule with a leather ruler from Dowel Jones – you
could even pair it with a little desk friend to complete the set.
Does their memory often need a little jogging? Keep them in check with
a handmade and designed Note-to-Shelf from Standing By – the first
release even comes with a limited-edition Moon, 2016 calendar. Image
