is known for advocating for change through his socially-engaged art
practice. In 2015, Ben was profoundly affected by the execution of his
friend and fellow artist Myuran Sukumaran.
How can we advocate for a WORLD AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY? ED AYRES
(ABC Radio National) is joined in CONVERSATION BY JULIAN MCMAHON, to
discuss his work representing those facing the death penalty and his
mission to bring state sponsored killings to an end.
_Julian McMahon AC SC is a Melbourne-based barrister, President of the
Capital Punishment Justice Project (formerly known as Reprieve
Australia) and a human rights advocate. For more than 16 years Julian
has worked for prisoners facing the death penalty, including
representing members of the accused Bali Nine – Andrew Chan and
Myuran Sukumaran._
