Peaceful Pathways to Conflict Resolution - AVP Level 1 Workshop

From Sat 24 November 2018 to Sun 25 November 2018
Ended

Are you worried about the destructive words and behaviours you notice in your community, in AUSTRALIA or around the world? Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Queensland believes that making a more PEACEFUL WORLD STARTS WITH EACH OF US. Our LEVEL 1 WORKSHOP IS AN INTRODUCTION TO THE WORK OF AVP IN ADDRESSING VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES, schools and prisons. It is an opportunity to learn more about using communication and empathy to deepen our relationships with others and find non-violent solutions to the CONFLICTS IN OUR LIVES. AVP WORKSHOPS INTERSPERSE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES WITH GUIDED DISCUSSIONS AND LOTS OF FUN AND LAUGHTER. Our facilitators work hard to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can explore the things that matter to you. In this WORKSHOP YOU WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE FIVE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES OF AVP. We will begin to explore affirmation, communication, cooperation, community building and transforming power and how these might help us: understand ourselves more, deepen our relationships with others, and find nonviolent solutions to the CONFLICTS IN OUR LIVES. Cost is $125 for waged participants and $40 for unwaged - to assist with running costs and administration. If this is prohibitive for you please let us know as we do not like to turn away people who are interested. We ask participants to bring a plate for lunch to share with others. Tea, Coffee and snacks will be provided. Please register your interest by contacting AVPQ at admin@avpq.org.au
