We are sewing outside the lines at this upcycling masterclass with Jane Milburn and Darin Rose providing inspiration for you to refashion and reinvent existing clothing and textiles into personalized garments. As part of the session, you will be introduced to the sewing machines at SLQ’s Fabrication Lab*, see subtraction cutting in action, discuss various upcycling techniques and implement your own upcycles within the timeframe. This is an inspirational session for those ready to refashion as an act of sustainability and expression of personal style. Join upcycler Jane Milburn and designer Darin Rose to see creative and zero waste approaches: * Subtraction cut garments * Flip dresses and skirts * Drape/chop change ideas What to bring: garments you love but aren’t wearing, surplus bed linen and/or quilt cover Darin is a designer who featured in the 2018 WornOUT REFASHION SHOWCASE. Jane is an upcycler and author of _Slow Clothing: finding meaning in what we wear_ and a member of Fashion Revolution Australia. Spaces are limited. *Once you are inducted to use the Fabrication Lab sewing machines, you can use them at no cost whenever the lab is open.
