Dear Colleague,
The Natural Gas Industry recognises it has a diverse workforce that
needs to carry out their activities in remote locations away from
sophisticated medical facilities and rapid emergency response. Medical
Fitness to Work (FTW) is an integral element in ensuring the safety of
staff and contractors in the industry.
The Fitness to Work Project Team has been making solid progress with
the development of a baseline medical guideline to address both
pre-employment and periodic medical assessments which is aimed at
improving the health and safety of those who work in the CSG industry.
The intent is for the approach to be progressively adopted across the
industry. This will lead to improved workforce health and also have
the benefit of a single, recognised approach that is accepted by all
Safer Together member companies.
Safer Together is conducting a series of CONSULTATION WORKSHOPS FOR
MEMBERS INTERESTED IN REVIEWING AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE FINAL
DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEDICAL ASSESSMENT GUIDELINE. Members can also ask
questions on set up and implementation of the FTW ASSESSMENT PROCESS
IN THEIR OWN ORGANISATION.
Note:
1. Apart from the workshop in Toowoomba there will be another regional
workshop held in Roma (date to be advised)
2. You only need to attend one of the workshops
3. The CONSULTATION WORKSHOPS WILL BE USEFUL FOR THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR
ESTABLISHING AND IMPLEMENTING FTW PROGRAMS IN THEIR COMPANY, including
HR, HSE or workforce management.
