UPPER CROSS SYNDROME PRACTICAL WORKSHOP Upper Cross Syndrome is a term
that describes a number of different types of altered postures through
biomechanical changes over a long period of time. These changes can
lead to a number of musculoskeletal conditions, causing pain,
decreased range of motion, and poor functional movement patterns. Not
only can Upper Cross Syndrome lead to soft tissue pain and
dysfunction, but it can also cause cervical and thoracic spinal based
pain that presents locally and that radiates away from the spine.
This one day practical workshop will cover specific musculoskeletal
conditions related to Upper Cross Syndrome. Corrective exercises and
corrective stretching will be implemented to help reverse these
postural changes leading to a reduction in pain, and significant
increases in range of motion. Manual handling in the form of specific
myofascial techniques and specific joint mobilisation techniques will
also be included.
By the end of this one day practical workshop, you will be able to
accurately assess and treat the cervical and thoracic region for Upper
Cross Syndrome with a range of different soft tissue modalities, joint
mobilisation techniques, and will be able to prescribe specific
cervical and thoracic exercises for long term management.
