ABOUT THE GRADE PROGRAM THE GRADE APPROACH (Grading of Recommendations
Assessment, Development and Evaluation) reflects ‘best practice’
in terms of clinical guideline development and has been endorsed by
organizations across the globe. The JBI ADELAIDE 1-day GRADE WORKSHOP
IS DESIGNED FOR SYSTEMATIC REVIEWERS, guideline developers and others
wanting to learn more about GRADE METHODOLOGY, particularly the
creation of Summary of Findings tables and Evidence Profiles. The
WORKSHOP INCLUDES INFORMATION ON THE THEORY OF GRADE ALONG WITH
HANDS-on activities. ABOUT THE GRADE WORKSHOP PRESENTER ASSOCIATE
PROFESSOR ZACHARY MUNN IS THE DIRECTOR OF THE TRANSFER SCIENCE PROGRAM
OF THE JOANNA BRIGGS INSTITUTE (JBI) and a systematic review and
guideline development methodologist. In his role as Director of
Transfer Science, A/Prof Zachary Munn leads the development and
coordination of the Institute’s educational courses, the development
of systematic review and implementation software tools, and the
promotion and publication of the collaboration’s methodologies.
A/Prof Munn is the current Chair of the International JBI Scientific
Committee and has been involved in the conduct of dozens of systematic
reviews, clinical guidelines, evidence implementation and health
services research projects. He is also the Director of the JBI
ADELAIDE GRADE CENTER, the first GRADE CENTER IN AUSTRALIA AND A G-I-N
Board Trustee. Please CLICK HERE for further information about
Associate Professor Zachary Munn. Alexa is a Senior Research Fellow in
the Transfer Science program of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). JBI
is an international not-for-profit, research and development Centre
within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of
ADELAIDE, South Australia. The Institute collaborates internationally
with over 70 entities across the world. The Institute and its
Collaborating Entities promote and support the synthesis, transfer and
utilization of evidence through identifying feasible, appropriate,
meaningful and effective healthcare practices to assist in the
improvement of healthcare outcomes globally. Alexa has had various
roles within JBI, and is currently working delivering high quality
educational short courses, and with a clinical midwifery background
enjoys facilitating clinicians in the field of evidence-based
healthcare, research synthesis, transfer and implementation. Special
interests include involvement with a group of international
researchers to further develop text, opinion and policy systematic
reviews, and implementation methodology for JBI. Alexa is an Associate
Editor of the JBI Database of Systematic Reviews & Implementation
Reports and peer review for a number of international journals. Alexa
supervises postgraduate students with a focus on evidence synthesis of
a healthcare clinical topic, varying from pharmacist prescribing,
partnership for hand hygiene compliance, and health professionals
attitudes regarding open disclosure. Please CLICK HERE for
further information about Ms Alexa McArthur. Dr. Timothy Barker is a
Research Fellow within the Transfer Science team at the Joanna Briggs
Institute. He is an emerging systematic review and research
methodologist and is actively involved in projects investigating how
we can improve the conduct and reporting of research. He has
significant experience in systematic reviews and contributes to the
teaching and coordination of the JBI Comprehensive Systematic Review
Training Program. JBI is an evidence-based healthcare research
institute working towards a vision of the world in which the best
available evidence is used to inform decision making at the point of
care globally. JBI hosts the Joanna Briggs Collaboration, a network of
80 centres and groups with thousands of people contributing to this
vision across the globe. Previous research highlights includes work
that focussed on the maintenance and improvement of animal welfare and
welfare detection methods. During his PhD he developed and critically
appraised a Judgment-Bias Test (JBT) as an effective and practical
method of welfare assessment. Being able to accurately measure welfare
state is an important consideration for all animal use in research and
teaching. With JBT testing in its relative infancy multiple
confounding variables and factors often overlooked in the scientific
literature were considered and compared as part of Timothy’s PhD
thesis. This led to the recommendation that although the JBT can
accurately identify animal affect, the associated burdens that
accompany its use suggest it to be a poor practical method of welfare
assessment. Please CLICK HERE for further information about Dr
Timothy Barker. PROGRAM DETAILS The cost of the JBI GRADE WORKSHOP IS
$390AUD and can be paid by Credit Card during the registration
