In line with the advice of the Chief Medical Officer
and the Australian Government, Defence is currently reconsidering
upcoming events to protect the people involved. The latest advice is
that outdoor events with less than 500 people and indoor events with
less than 100 people may still go ahead, provided that social
distancing and hygiene principles are followed.
This includes:
* covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
* disposing of tissues properly
* washing your hands often with soap and water or using
alcohol-based hand sanitiser where not available
* not touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
* avoiding physical contact with others.
Do not attend if you are sick, or if you have been overseas or been
exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past two weeks. People who
are in a higher risk category such as those with a chronic illness and
the elderly should seek advice from their healthcare provider on how
best to manage their health risks during this time.
It is important that you check current public health advice on
the Department of Health website
[https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert].
ADF families can call the Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608 at
any time for information and advice.
