SECTIONS, PLATYPUS FEEDING POOLS AND BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. Come alone and
make new friends or bring your friends along! All KAYAKING EQUIPMENT,
guide / instructor services and transfers from the historic town of
GRETNA and a chef prepared gourmet local fruit and tasting platter by
the River. Great for first-time/novice KAYAKERS AND A FANTASTIC

Meeting time:
5 pm meet at 3457 Lyell Highway, Gretna. You will see the Tassie Bound
Van waiting for you.
3 hour evening adventure begins on a private farm in Rosegarland and
finishes below Bushy Park. You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer
or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and
adventurous spirit! Wild swimming optional.
Inclusions as follows:
Tuition given to level of tour.
We will met at Gretna above. Courtesy Transport to Launch Site at
Private Farm and Return back Gretna meeting point-
We will be supported by Professional Guidance with Australian Canoeing
Qualified Guide and Leader: Fiona Weaver.
All kayaking Equipment provided including PFD and paddling spray
jacket. Solo or Tandem sit-on top Hobie Kayaks. Super stable an no
rolling techniques needed to operate.

Meeting Point We will meet at 5 pm at 3457 Lyell Highway, Gretna in
the Derwent Valley (approx a 45 minute drive from Hobart). You will
see me waiting with the van and kayak trailer in the car park here
near the Gretna Fire Station. There are public toilets for your use
Duration: 5 pm to 8.00 pm (approximately) platypus are most active in
evening.
What to bring:
A warm jacket to put underneath a wet weather jacket (We can supply).
Hat and/or sunglasses
Shoes that can get wet
Drink bottle (2L)
Towel
Swimmers
Change of clothes to leave in the bus for after tour.
Please Note: Maximum of 8 guests. We will provide individual kayaks.
If you prefer a tandem please let us know prior on booking. Guests do
not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a
smile! Participants will need to be able to have very basic swimming.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes. You must be over the age of 14 years to attend this trip and
minors must be accompanied by an adult

What do I need to wear in the kayak?
Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest
you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you
will warm up kayaking.
What if it's raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless its heavy rain or
very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof
jacket. Wet suits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day.
What's the cancellation policy?
No refunds. Only refund in extreme weather. Transfers from one person
to another will not be permitted.
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound
Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this
trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours
will happily refund monies paid in the event that extreme wind or
dangerous conditions be present at or before the commencement of the
Women's Kayaking . Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the
right to change itinerary.
