the basics of sewing in one easy workshop.
This course if perfect for the absolute beginner. If you’ve always
wanted to try sewing or need a refresher course after a long break,
this course will cover everything you need to know to get you on your
way.
In this workshop you will learn sewing terminology, how to thread a
sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew straight lines and seam pressing
techniques. We will discuss how to shop for fabric, and what to look
for when buying a sewing machine.
Finally, you will learn how to sew your very own simple tote bag!
*Don’t finish your bag? Don’t Stress! You can pop into the studio
to finish your project during a social class or drop in when the
studio is free.

This course is designed for the complete beginner.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

WHAT TO BRING

All sewing machines and fabric is provided however please feel free to
bring your own machine or fabric if you have something special in
mind.

Lessons are run in my cool little studio in Elsternwick, right near
the train station.
The maximum number of students is six so each student will get
personalised instructions and plenty of time to practise on the sewing
machines supplied.
*Annie has her Fashion Design and Production Certificate and over 30
years of sewing experience.
*Annie has also been recently awarded Dressmaker of the Year Award,
2018 from Simplicity patterns.
