Laura King hails from the Southern shores of Australia, where she’s
performed at an array of festivals, events and club shows across the
country. Combining influences from early tribal techno, hard trance
and acid, Laura’s music creates a nostalgic yet innovative
performance and the uproar of a good old classic dance party. A
regular fixture at some of Australia’s biggest electronic music
festivals and events – it’s no wonder she’s caught the eye and
support of world class name’s like Thomas Schumacher, Eric Powell
and Anna.
Well-versed duo The Journey gravitate in the melodic techno and
progressive house pool, opening things up on a musically atmospheric
note all while synthesising influences around them. Built to keep
dance-floor hearts full, the Melbourne based producer, DJ and label
pair have knelt to electronic devotees on one knee, gracing stages at
the iconic Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pitch Music & Arts to Subsonic
and Strawberry Fields Festival, while having cemented solid tours
throughout Europe in 2018 & 2019. As curators of Ugenius Music, the
duo pass on their emotive production qualities, signing some of the
most impressive local and offshore producers in their sphere as well
as having their own productions released on massive European labels
like Stil Vor Talent, Ritual and Einmusika.
We are lucky enough to be again hosted by the infamous Fitzroy
institution that is The Night Cat, an original, much loved icon and
appreciated venue that has been entertaining the masses with music for
many years. We also would like to acknowledge the Traditional
Custodians of the land that this event is being held on, the
Wurundjeri people. We wish to pay our respect to their Elders; past,
present and emerging, and recognise their connection to land, water
and community.
