Children these days are growing up with technology being such an important part of their worlds, but unfortunately they lack the skills to fully understand the very real dangers that are lurking in cyber land. It’s a very scary thought that a two year old can unlock a smart phone quite easily, or that 5 and 6 year old’s are asking for snapchat. As parents it is our responsibility to keep our children safe, and now more than ever, they need us to educate them positively about how to use the internet. So, how can we protect them?Join Social Media Expert Maree Sortino, and Chrissie Davies – a child Behaviour expert as we have a very real and open conversation about how we can support our kids to be equipped to deal with what they might encounter online. IN THIS WORKSHOP WE WILL EXPLORE THE CONCERNS AROUND TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY: * The alarming Aussie statistics * The main apps our kids are accessing and the impact it’s having on them * The things parents need to be aware of when allowing their kids to have social media apps * The big issues - cyber safety & cyber bullying WE WILL ALSO DISCUSS: * The importance of setting up safe online boundaries within your home * Managing screen time effectively & positively * Peer Group pressure * How to deal with technology tantrums * Leading by example Hosted at Chaos to Calm HQ- Level 1/209 Hall Street, Spotswood Free parking nearby Light refreshments provided Limited to 20 tickets - secure your spot now!
