Our program enables women and their support persons, to make informed choices about their pregnancy, labour, birth and early parenting
The Royal Women’s Hospital at Sandringham is now offering Childbirth and Early Parenting education , using video live-streaming for Women’s clients.
This program has will be offered via the WebEx platform, to women who are booked into Sandringham Hospital, to give birth to their first baby.
As a participant, you will be able to access expert education and advice from one of the Women’s childbirth educators in the comfort of your own home.
One ticket is for both you and your partner or support person to participate.
Places are limited so we recommend you book your spot as soon as possible. Please purchase the ticket using the pregnant person’s name.
Please note: If you are unable to get into this program please refer to our childbirth education videos on the Women’s website.
Topics that will be covered include:
• Signs of labour, including when to come to hospital
• Progress of labour and birth
• Role of support person
• Practical coping methods during labour
• Medical options for pain management
• Assistance with birth
• Understanding breastfeeding
• Safe sleeping and settling
• Communicating with your baby
• Community supports for the family
As we cannot conduct Hospital Tours, we encourage you to refer to the posters located in the Clinic waiting areas.
A refund will only be available if cancellation is made, at least one week prior to the first booked session. If you book a program but do not attend no refund will be given.
Please choose your dates carefully as programs book out quickly. It will not be possible to change your booking.
