Workshop series
Level: intermediate/advanced

Saturdays 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Course fee: $195
Join us for this unique opportunity to observe and paint alongside one of Australia’s great, award-winning artists – Graeme Drendel.
Graeme is represented by Australian Galleries where he has had seventeen solo exhibitions since 1990. His work is held in the collections of Artbank, Newcastle Regional Gallery and the Bundanon Trust. Graeme is a finalist in this years, 2017 Doug Moran National Portraiture Prize.
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to study Graeme’s painting process as he creates a Still Life painting, with participants then getting the opportunity to paint under his guidance.
In conjunction with Melbourne Art Class, Graeme will be conducting three consecutive three-hour masterclasses over three Saturdays in February. He will demonstrate his process, with students getting the chance to then follow the same process themselves.
Please bring your own canvas or board to paint on, with a minimum 30 cm length on one side. Please bring your own materials although if you are unable to we will provide basic materials.
The class size is limited to ten students to ensure Graeme can offer one-on-one tuition.
Graeme is a key Australian figurative painter and printmaker. His works can be described as disconcerting and often flirt with the surreal; even with the addition of a title, many of his paintings leave you questioning.
