Saray Iluminado in concert at a mansion on beautiful gardens. Saray Iluminado play new interpretations of Sevdah from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Jewish Sephardic music from the Balkans. Singer Dr Nela Trifkovic (WAAPA and VCA) grew up in Bosnia singing with her father’s band. She is joined by Australia’s leading traditional klezmer violinist Ernie Gruner (violin, mandolin), Kelly Dowall (clarinet, ney) who has studied in Turkey and Greece, and William Thompson (oud, lute) who has performed with Astra Chamber Music Ensemble and Troveresse medieval ensemble.
