Simplifying complex medication regimens in residential aged care

Presented by Professor Simon Bell (Director, Centre for Medicine Use and Safety, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University).

This workshop will:                                     

1. Describe factors that contribute to complex medication regimens in residential aged care;
2. Describe the benefits of regimen simplification and identify possible situations in which regimen simplification may not be desirable; and
3. Apply a 5-step implicit tool to identify opportunities for simplifying complex medication regimens.
