Due to overwhelming community support, the Friends of ANZAC COTTAGE
INC IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE A SERIES OF “ANZAC AFTERNOONS” at
CASTELLORIZIAN HOUSE SITUATED AT 160 ANZAC ROAD, Mount Hawthorn (on
the corner of ANZAC ROAD AND KALGOORLIE STREET). The first of these
AFTERNOONS, on Sunday March 29, from 1pm to 4pm will acknowledge
Women’s History Month with the theme of “NURSES: ANGELS IN
ADVERSITY”. Talks and displays will focus on the crucial role played
by NURSES IN WARTIME, exploring the difficulties they faced and how
their service impacted on their lives. Talks will be complemented by
displays of medical equipment, uniforms past and present and
photographs. Children are welcome and will enjoy a number of
interactive activities to experience ‘being a nurse’. There will
also be a short talk on the intriguing relationship between
CASTELLORIZIAN HOUSE AND ANZAC COTTAGE. Entry is free and AFTERNOON
TEA WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR A GOLD COIN DONATION. Attendees are advised
to find parking on Britannia Reserve, one block away from the HOUSE.
