WHAT IS A HACKATHON?Running over a weekend, students will be mentored by industry professionals and experienced entrepreneurs.  The purpose is to develop a software solution for a specific problem from the legal profession. Within 54 hours they will brainstorm, ideate, validate, prototype and build a business model which they will present 'Shark Tank Style' to an industry panel. WHAT'S INVOLVED? Teams of participants will select a software-based challenge related to the legal industry. Each team of students will work with lawyers from some of Perth's leading Law Firms and Community Legal Centres.   Teams will present their  solutions to a panel of judges on the Sunday evening.  The solutions created by teams at this hackathon have the potential to help law firms and in-house legal departments to better manage their firms. The aim is to provide real world solutions to reduce costs for end users.     WHAT'S INCLUDED? The HACKATHON IS OPEN TO 40 STUDENTS*.  The registration cost includes: - Opening Night Event on the Friday; - Lunch on both Saturday and Sunday; - Access to some of the finest legal minds in Perth. FAQ'S - You do not require a team to register - these will be selected at random on the Friday evening. - You do not requrie any form of computer skills or 'hacking' expreience - this a brainstorm rather than the production of a prototype.
