Creating a sustainable sanctuary that is cheap to run and comfortable
to live in is easier than you think. Join us to find out how! About
this Event Would you like to save money on your energy and water
bills? Do you want to take local action on climate change but don't
know where to start? This session is for you! Jason Menzies from Be
Sustainable will share practical tips that are relevant for all homes
- whether you're in your dream home or renting on a tight budget. This
session provides advice that will inspire you to head home and start
making changes. Households use lots of energy to keep us comfortable
so that we can do the things we enjoy. A third of the energy used in
our homes is for heating and cooling. Learn how to cut back your
energy and water use while keeping comfortable and enjoying doing the
things you love. Fun fact: Did you know that every square metre of
window receiving direct sunlight is the same as leaving a one bar
radiant heater on? Jason will reveal how to shade those sunny areas in
summer through a range of creative ideas that could be tailored to
suit all homes. Water heating also uses a third of the energy in our
homes. Find out why and what you can do about it in your home. Jason
will also cover how to create micro-climates in your garden to reduce
energy and water use in your home. The City of Stirling is hosting a
series of sustainability workshops to help residents create
sustainable sanctuaries in their home. To find out about other
