We would like to invite you to our next Digital in Practice Programme
on:'Smart mobility: has the revolution stalled?'
25 MAY 2018, 08:30 – 10:00, BRUSSELS
On taking up this issue in March 2017, our experts made it clear that
ICT is fast transforming the highly complex and critically important
automotive business. The European Commission has spared no time or
effort to help all key stakeholders produce the GEAR2030 report of
November 2017 that paves the way for addressing the main challenges in
a coordinated fashion.
Not only business will be disrupted well beyond the automotive sector
as data ownership and liability call for innovative solutions in spare
parts, insurance, road signaling, etc but our daily life will never be
the same either: shared mobility makes owning a vehicle a goal of the
past, safety concerns rise with every bump in road-testing autonomous
cars, ethics lies in the back of everybody’s mind as AI gradually
crowds humans out of decisions that used to be in their hands for more
than a century.
Time to convene another debate to shed light on where smart mobility
is taking us! These experts have kindly agreed to launch the
conversation on 25 May:
Speakers:
- Eddy Hartog, Head of Unit, SMART MOBILITY & Living, DG CONNECT,
European Commission
- Fazilet Cinaralp, Secretary General, European Tyre & Rubber
Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA)
- Joost Vantomme, SMART MOBILITY DIRECTOR, European Automobile
Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA)
- Christoph Lütge, Professor of Business Ethics, Technische
Universität München
Moderator:
- Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General of DIGITALEUROPE
In keeping with the DiPP spirit, we are happy to invite you to
contribute your thoughts and experience to this informal exchange of
views that will fit the Chatham House rule.
Registration: The number of seats is limited. Please register online
before 23 May.
Background
The Digital in Practice Programme aims to make a case for the digital
industry and to evidence the transformative impact of digital products
and services. By fostering short, crisp and open debates between
leading experts and interested guests, our workshops afford the
industry, policy makers and other key stakeholders a powerful
educational platform where to share information and discuss informally
how a truly ICT-enabled Europe will look like.
